In this teaching, Khenpo Sherab Sangpo, the Spiritual Director and a Professor of Buddhist Philosophy at Bodhicitta Sangha | Heart of Enlightenment Institute in Minneapolis, MN, teaches on Buddha’s three qualities of his great love, his capacity to help all beings, and his awakened mind – his ultimate wisdom that knows things as they truly are. The Buddha taught that we are what we think; our thoughts create the world of suffering (samsara) and our wisdom creates nirvana, the world of our happiness and our liberation from suffering. The Buddha taught that our true mind is a mind that is beyond imagination; a mind that is very open realizing the nature of reality as it is without confusion or bias. He also taught that every person has the capacity to realize the non-dual nature of their own mind; a mind that abides in the union of wisdom and compassion (neither in the duality of samsara or nirvana). Later in the teaching, Khenpo explains the three bodies (kayas) of Buddha, the dharmakaya (truth body), the sambhogakaya (enjoyment body), and the nirmanakaya (emanation body), and how these kayas can arise based on the wisdom that realizes the emptiness or lack of of inherent existence. The teaching concludes with a meditation using the three channels of the subtle energy body with a visualization of Green Tara at the heart center.
