In this video, Khenpo Sherab Sangpo, a Tibetan Buddhist monk and professor of Buddhism (bodhicittasangha.org), teaches his students how to do tonglen meditation practice; a practice of taking on suffering and compassionately sending loving-kindness to sentient beings who are in samsara. He gives oral instructions on how to combine the breath and visualization together. Tonglen is one method of meditating on bodhicitta and expanding one’s capacity to help others. It is a foundational practice in Buddhism, but quite profound in its ability to reflect the innate compassion of our buddha-nature.
