Namo guru śākyamunaye!

With your great compassion, you embraced this turbulent and degenerate world,
And made five hundred mighty aspirations.
You are as exalted as the white lotus; whoever hears your name shall never return to saṃsāra—
Most compassionate teacher, to you I pay homage!

Supreme teacher, bhagavan, tathāgata, arhat, complete and perfect Buddha, glorious conqueror, Śākyamuni Buddha, to you I pay homage! To you I make offerings! In you I take refuge!

Saga Dawa is the name of the fourth month in the Tibetan lunar calendar. It starts on May 31 and lasts until June 29, 2022. During this lunar month, we celebrate the birth of the Buddha on June 6, and his enlightenment and parinirvana on June 14—which is called Saga Dawa Düchen. To honor the life of our great teacher, Lord Buddha, I would like to ask you to eat vegetarian food during the month of Saga Dawa.
