In this recording, Khenpo Sherab Sangpo, a Tibetan Buddhist monk and Spiritual Director of Bodhicitta Sangha in Minneapolis (bodhicittasangha.org), teaches his students how to correct their motivation for their meditation practice to expand it beyond temporary benefits, such as relaxation, to include the vast motivation of shaping their minds for the benefit of all sentient beings. Motivation determines outcome; vast motivation brings profound changes in the mind and that helps meditators to develop qualities that increase their potential to truly help others. He also guides his students in a shamatha (calm abiding) meditation that allows them to calm their minds using the breath as object of meditation and, as the thoughts have been stilled, allows then to look at the nature of their minds.
