Tara Retreat Sadhana – White Tara practice text (PDF)
Bodhicitta Sangha | Heart of Enlightenment Institute with Khenpo Sherab Sangpo present a one-day meditation retreat on Tara.
TOPIC:
Retreat on Tara, “Mother of all Buddhas,” with instructions on how to practice Ju Mipham Rinpoche’s short, daily practice, “The Sadhana of the Noble White Tara.” White Tara is practiced to increase one’s own or another person’s health, wisdom, and merit; especially the long life of one’s teacher and lineage masters. Although known for these benefits, White Tara’s seed syllable TAM may also be practiced to recognize the nature of mind and all phenomena as birthless; as the simplicity and unconditioned quality of the dharmakaya. Because Tara is unborn, she is beyond all conditions and empty in essence; yet her manifestation and appearance is blissful. Meditating on Tara in this way allows one to realize the ultimate, unborn and empty nature of one’s mind. This is the awakened essence of all the Taras – white, green, red, or another color. Many great masters, such as Nagarjuna and Atisha, have realized enlightenment by relying on Tara.
Retreat includes reading transmission, alternating periods of guided meditation and teachings, and breaks for lunch and tea.
